2025 Drift Senior Advertisements
Taylorville High School’s award-winning yearbook
Dear parent or guardian of a 2025 Senior,
Each year, the editor of the Drift provides a space in which parents may choose to place a personal ad honoring their beloved graduate or graduates; at this time, we would like to formally extend to you this same opportunity.
A business card-sized ad may be purchased for $45. These ads take up a one-eighth-page area, and parents who choose this option may submit a small photo and a sentence of congratulations.
A fourth-page ad may be purchased for $60. This space allows you to submit a larger photo or two photos with additional text.
Our largest option, a half-page ad, may be purchased for $75. With more area, this ad can hold up to 4 photos with additional text.
Due to limited space in the Drift, senior ads will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please submit your order with labeled photo(s), a typed copy of the text to be included, and payment by Friday, March 28, 2025.
No requests will be accepted after March 28 due to contracted deadlines with our publishing company. You may choose to submit by one of the following methods:
Send an email including your photo(s) and text (please specify the end of the email and the beginning of the copy) to tradcliff@tcusd3.org. Payment may be brought directly to room 144 (Mrs. Radcliff’s room) or mailed to the address below. Make checks payable to THS Journalism.

THS will have students take the ACT/ Pre-ACT 9/Pre-ACT 10 on March 26, 2025. After students complete their assessment they will participate in the College Exploration and Community Service Day. (See the attached flyer)
Memorial students with perfect attendance for the first semester had the opportunity to attend an incentive party this afternoon to celebrate their achievement!

Homework Help resumes tomorrow at TJHS and will meet each T/TH from 3:15-5 pm. Just a reminder that if you would like to take advantage of this program a parent or guardian must be able to pick up the student by 5 pm. Please call the office at 824-4924 if you would like further information regarding this opportunity and we can send home a packet with your son or daughter.
Last semester, Industry II students spent time in the classroom earning their OSHA 10 Hour Card in the construction field. After taking their exams, they were presented with their Certificate of Completion and their Department of Labor OSHA 10 card. Congratulations to these students!

Freshman Orientation
Attention Class of 2029!
We are excited to invite you to our Freshman Orientation, where you'll get a sneak peek into life at Taylorville High School. Join us on Thursday, February 27th at 6:00pm for an informative session where you’ll hear from THS staff about everything our school has to offer. You'll also have the opportunity to tour the building. Plus, don’t miss the Activity Fair, where you can learn about the many clubs, sports, and extracurriculars you can be a part of! We can’t wait to see you there and help you kick off this exciting next chapter in your academic journey. This is open to all current 8th grade students and parents. It's a great day to be a Tornado!

Mrs. Reindl went into Mrs. May's Housing and Home Furnishing classes and showed the students different tips with Canva that they can use when creating a mood board or floor plan with colors. Students learned how to magic grab, generate a color palette by using an image, magic media, and magic erase.
Owl Pellet Dissection
Seventh grade students dissected owl pellets and reconstructed skeletons to answer questions about an owl’s habitat .

Mrs. Johnson's 5th grade participated in the activity Why Do Bears Hibernate?
Mystery Science - students are asked to consider which foods will provide bears the most energy (fruit, bugs, or fish).
Scholastic Bowl Christmas Party
Fourteen members of the scholastic bowl team gathered in Mrs. Wilhour’s room to celebrate the end of our first season. We played trivia games and incorporated a white elephant gift exchange along with the trivia questions. Our second season begins in January.
AI Professional Email and Template for Resume
Mrs. Reindl went into Mrs. Harker class and worked with the students on using AI to write a professional email. Then taking that email and using it but personalizing it. She also worked with them on using a Google template and creating a resume.
Taylorville Schools will have an E-Learning day on Friday, January 10th, 2025. Please follow the E-Learning plan.
7th and 8th grade students that passed 20 lessons in both math and reading got to enjoy some time at the Decatur Indoor Sports Complex on Wednesday, Jan 8. Here are a few of the pics for your review. Next Wednesday, Jan 15, our 5th and 6th grade students who earned the incentive will be heading that way as well. i-Ready is our latest computer program designed to meet students at their readiness levels and increade grade level competency. Thank you to our JH Student Council for funding this Rewards Trip activity for the kids!
🎄✨ Holiday Fun in Spanish Class! ✨🍁
Our Spanish students have been showcasing their creativity and language skills with some festive projects! Check out these highlights:
🦃 Thanksgiving Worksheets: Spanish 2, 3, and 4 students completed themed worksheets before Thanksgiving, now proudly displayed in the classroom.
🎅 Christmas Poster Projects: Spanish 2 students created beautiful posters featuring holiday traditions from Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama, and Uruguay. These are currently on display in the hallway near the Spanish classroom.
Great job to all the students for their hard work and creativity!
