
7th and 8th grade students that passed 20 lessons in both math and reading got to enjoy some time at the Decatur Indoor Sports Complex on Wednesday, Jan 8. Next Wednesday, Jan 15, our 5th and 6th grade students who earned the incentive will be heading that way as well. i-Ready is our latest computer program designed to meet students at their readiness levels and increade grade level competency. Thank you to our JH Student Council for funding this Rewards Trip activity for the kids!











🎄✨ Holiday Fun in Spanish Class! ✨🍁
Our Spanish students have been showcasing their creativity and language skills with some festive projects! Check out these highlights:
🦃 Thanksgiving Worksheets: Spanish 2, 3, and 4 students completed themed worksheets before Thanksgiving, now proudly displayed in the classroom.
🎅 Christmas Poster Projects: Spanish 2 students created beautiful posters featuring holiday traditions from Argentina, Costa Rica, Panama, and Uruguay. These are currently on display in the hallway near the Spanish classroom.
Great job to all the students for their hard work and creativity!





TJHS students and staff are wearing red and black tomorrow to show our support for the Mt. Zion community as they stand together in hope and prayer through their recent tragedy. Rivals come together when it really matters and nothing is more precious to us than the lives of our kids and the wellness of our communities.


Balto literacy unit and movie
Our 4th grade classes recently completed a literacy unit on Balto, the heroic Siberian Husky who led a sled dog team to deliver life-saving diphtheria antitoxin to Nome, Alaska during a 1925 epidemic. The journey through a blizzard to save the children was truly inspiring! Today, we celebrated by watching the movie together and enjoying delicious popcorn from our local movie theater!


First and second graders dove into the exciting world of coding during the Hour of Code! Students explored basic programming concepts through fun, interactive activities designed to spark creativity and problem-solving skills. This hands-on experience introduced them to the fundamentals of coding while fostering a love for technology and innovation!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Thomas and Ms. Reiser's classes had a magical time learning about reindeer through a festive literacy activity. After reading and writing about these holiday favorites, students followed step-by-step instructions to craft their own reindeer, blending creativity with important literacy skills!

E-Learning Day:
To ensure continued learning, tomorrow will be an E-Learning day. Teachers will provide students with assignments and resources through our online learning platforms and/or worksheet packets that were given to parents/guardians during PT Conferences
Students Without Device Access:
We understand that some students may not have access to devices at home. Please be assured that students without access will be given ample time to complete assignments upon their return to school. No student will be penalized for lack of access during this remote learning day.

Some high school teachers enjoyed "twin day" with Principal Matt Hutchison.


Mrs. Salmon’s 6th grade science were challenge to creat a Moon Buggy. The Moon Buggy had to meet four requirements. Students practiced their engineering and design skills and found the hardest part were the wheels.








8th grade students at TJHS are partnering up in ELA to annotate ‘The Cremation of Sam McGee









7th grade science dissecting owl pellets. Students were able to determine what the owls diet was and the ecosystem it lived in based on their discoveries.






Mark your calendars for the TMH Walking Challenge starting January 2nd. It's a great way to stay active and healthy after the holiday season!
